So cliche…

This is the first of hopefully many posts where I will be talking about all sorts of IT related topics that catch my eye or that just need a mention.

It’s a bit like a first date – all new, exciting, full of possibilities and promise….sigh..but we haven’t even been introduced yet. So before I buy you a drink..

My name is Alex and I work for an online bank as an Information Architect. I’ve been into computers since my first- a ZX Spectrum 48k. It came out when I was only 2 and understandably, I wasn’t allowed to touch it till I was much older but it wasn’t long after that I got it upgraded to the 128k with the tape deck attached :) .

I’ve had my share of PC’s, getting a new one every time a new processor came out, which back in the beginning was fairly often as we seemed to whizz through the 286, 386 and 486…

And now I seem to be surrounded by them; parts of machines, whole machines, bits of machines, bits of bit of machines and all sorts of manuals. I live and breathe computers, only taking time off to eat, sleep and drink (not necessarily in that order).
