Ah another week nearly over and it has been a mixed bag and to be honest not quite sure I know how I feel after it.
Monday 10 May
6PM – 8.89m – Hill work – 1:25:34 – 9:36 – hr 158 (76% WHR)
Mondays are usually my rest day but not having had a chance to run on Sunday I had the opportunity to get out for one. My car had just been serviced and MOT’ed so thought I would run to pick it up. I’m not sure which was more painful the bill or the run. I had done this route before but it was very different this time. For one it wasn’t raining but the legs didn’t feel as lively as they had before and I wasn’t bounding down the roads this time
Tuesday 11 May
6PM – 2.04m – General – 16:51 – 8:16 – hr 158 (76% WHR)
This wasn’t really much of anything, I’m investigating setting up a parkrun in Derby and so decided to go to a local park and see if I could find a suitable 5k route, this was only part of it but I had to cut things short due to other commitments but using mapmyrun.com I’ve now finished the course and just need to try running it a couple of times.
Wednesday 12 May
12PM – 6.91m – General – 1:00:00 – 8:41 – hr 155 (74% WHR)
Back onto my training plan finally and this was my usual lunchtime run and no shine splints in fact legs and body felt fine and I really struggled to keep my speed and indeed my heart rate down also felt good about getting near 7 miles, new lunch time target is to run home and back in an hour but that may take a while.
Thursday 13 May
Rest day
Decided to take the advice of a friend and running club member and ease up, took my kit to work instead of running in to do perhaps a recovery run at lunch time but never got out and had a diver theory lesson in the evening which scuppered a run then too
Friday 14 May
1PM – 4.5m – General – 40:00 – 8:53 – hr 155 (74% WHR)
Woke up feeling great, full of life decided to make up for Thursdays lack of running I would take my kit forgo my Friday lunchtime treat of the pub and run was I coming down with something?! Was busy at work so thought I would do 40 mins rather than an hour which proved fortuitous as despite my mind feeling great my legs didn’t match the enthusiasm as a little bit into it my right leg/ calf felt like a dead weight and did pretty much until I started the return run when the left leg took over. Got back wishing I’d gone to pub instead

Rest day
Always is a rest day but this Saturday I’m going to see a play in London.
Sunday 16 May
Rest day
A rest day and a trip to Llaneilian in Anglesey for some diving
So weekly mileage = 22.3 +4.76 from last week, not that it is planned that way but seems I’m doing a similar increase week on week so far also interestingly I’m on 44 miles this month already compared to a 39 total from last month so I guess I should still be feeling pretty good.
