Self-confessed geek by day, super-geek by night, I live and breathe technology and computing. The loyal soul that I am, I’ve been with my current employer for 10 years, having earned my crust in a variety of roles. Right now, I’m a web engineer, but before the ink has dried on my nameplate, the next restructure will amble along and no doubt I’ll be printing out another one. Oh the joys of employment in the private sector!

My background is in web development – mainly PHP – but I have picked up a few other languages along the way (oh, and I have been known to dabble in French from time to time ;) )

Besides my computer related activities, I’ve found that daylight and fresh air are the equivalent of defragging my hard drive and as a consequence, I try and get out of the house with sports and activities such as running, scuba diving, walking and canoe polo (though these days more as a spectator than a participator!).

Shipwrecked! When Captain Aubrey and his crew run aground on a remote island, they labour to construct a seaworthy schooner from the wreckage (taking breaks, of course, to play cricket). Their subsequent adventures lead them to the dreaded penal colony at Botany Bay, and then, as always, back to sea.
