It is one thing to be ‘thrifty’ but I think it is an entirely different thing when pictures on Sky news make you out to be nothing more than a pack of savage dogs tearing at post-Christmas sales and last seasons left overs.

Then you see on BBC news of three women collapse during sales and you start to wonder what is coming to the world.

I liked the West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson comment:

If you are planning to attend and queue in the future, please ensure that you wear suitable clothing

Some people just don’t seem to think these days.

Well I have decided on my Christmas tree colour scheme, finally.

This year we will be going silver and blue, so I bought myself a real Christmas tree and had great fun getting it onto the car.

Then dropping needles all over the house getting it into position, but even though it is only half done it does look good and for the first time this year I am starting to feel a little Christmassy

Just need to go shopping for the rest of the bits for the tree.

Well this will be my first Christmas in my new diggs and so I’m having to buy everything a fresh.

I have decided that it will definatly be a real Christmas tree for this year, what happenes next year may be different but my first is to be done right.

However I find that sorting out Christmas decorations isn’t quite as easy as I thought it would be. Firstly the colour scheme! I immediatly thought silver and blue would be a nice combination but the traditionalist with in me is on my case to go down the red and gold path.

I’ve spent most of the weekend looking at decorations, and some of the tat you can get now :s

I will definatly not be having any inflatable anywhere near my house!! And I don’t think I will be going to the trouble of some to decorate the exterior of the house as much as I might like it, time will not allow

Still I have another week to make up my mind but then even deciding real or not for your tree isn’t enough, there are about 6 different types all going up in price for something that will be rotting in bins around the country come 2nd of January…
